Making a Claim

    Topic: Social Media

    Research question: Should we change the way we as a society manage social media?

    Claim: We need to change the irresponsible way we manage social media.


    Why I am interested:
    I express an interest in this topic because it's an issue that effects all of us. Social media has an impact on our culture, businesses, education, government, and ultimately society as a whole. It's a communication tool used in all aspects of our life. More importantly, it will continue to effect our society as we continue to grow. On a more personal note this topic briefly covers mental health, which is a persistent on going battle in my life. I believe that it is being misrepresented in news and media of the modern age when the topic is discussed.


    My Audience:
People my age (16-22), those with the same interest, those who can relate to the issue, and those who will have to live with the decisions we will make now.

The oldest sport: Boxing or Running?

      Humanity has been competing with each other's physical prowess for what feels like the dawn of our species. Many of these sports require not just peak physical condition to compete but a sharp mind as well. However there is little to no debate that Running and boxing are the oldest sports to ever exist. Martial arts Has a long history spanning all the way back to the roman empire, and even longer before that. However the same can be said about running. Humanity has always been running, since the earliest stage of our evolution if we didn't run from predators we may not be here today.       The question is; which one is older?       My official name is David W. Napier, but I used to go by 'Wil' in my hometown of Lawrenceville Georgia. I was the 2nd child born on December 24, 2001 to my engineer Dad and stay at home Mom. I graduated at central Gwinnett High school with achievements in both fine arts and academics, taking honors classes and specializing in visual arts. I am currently attending Georgia Gwinnett College but am undecided in my major; so until then I plan on getting my general basic classes out of the way.
